ADULT DOSAGE

CHILD DOSAGE
Equivalents:
5 ml = 1 tsp
1 ml = 20 drops
To calculate the dosages for a child apply the method of your choice:
Young’s Rule:
(Adult dosage x Age of Child)/ (12 + Age of Child)
Sample: 2.5 ml adult dosage, 6 year old child
(2.5 ml x 6)/ (12 + 6)
15/18 = 0.83 ml
OR
Cowling’s Rule:
(Adult dosage x weight of child) / 150 lb
Sample: 2.5 ml adult dosage, 30 lb child
(2.5 ml x 30 lb) / 150 lb
75/150 = 0.50 ml
